The duo had collaborated together for a special short film called ‘Season’s Greetings’ which was about the LGBTQ community. The movie was a fitting tribute to the legacy of the legendary Rituparno Ghosh and it received some rave reviews from the audience and critics all over the country.
Well, seems like the appreciation hasn’t stopped even now. Celina Jaitly was bestowed with the honor of the ‘Best Performer In A Short Film’ award at the Filmfare Middle East and ever since the update came out, everyone, starting from fans to the team members of the film are super happy.
Celina shares,
“Winning something so prestigious and immensely recognized in our part of the world has given me the sign that I truly needed. After a 7 year break from cinema, two sets of twins, and a lot of pain from losing my parents and a child, it was not easy to return to sets. Ram Kamal put his faith in me when I had lost faith in myself. My mother’s last wish was for me to return to cinemas and when you obey your parents, only wonderful things happen. Ritu da’s blessings, Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s amazing direction, Lillette ji’s training, and amazing producers like Aritra das and Shailendra ji all contributed to this wonderful culmination of an amazing project and new beginning of Celina Jaitly Haag ‘The actor’.
Director Ram Kamal adds,
“We opened the film internationally at the prestigious Cardiff International Film Festival two years ago and traveled across the globe with our film. From Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan presenting the film, to winning many international accolades, this film has always been special. Now with Celina Jaitly Haag winning the coveted Best Performer in a Short Film at Filmfare Awards (Middle East) for Season’s Greetings, calls for a big celebration. Celina not only played the leading role along with Lillette Dubey, but she stood by this film like a team member. From making it the world’s first feature film to having United Nations Free and Equal on board to winning Best Performer at Filmfare, she is a rare talent. I hope we can join hands together soon, and create magic like Season’s Greetings.”
Producer Aritra Das from Assorted Motion Pictures shares his thoughts on the same saying,
