Cheat Food:

I have a lot of stuff on my cheat meal list and I keep switching from one to the other. I have a cheat meal once in every fortnight.

Eg -: Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani, Cheese Garlic Naan, Daal Makhni , Cheeseburst Pizzas, Pan Asian Cuisine, Cheesecakes etc. Hmmm …I am salivating now!

Favourite Exercise:

Any form of physical exercise that gives me that adrenaline rush. It could be weighted squat, leg press or dumbbell press, barbell curls, skull crushers etc

The purpose of exercise for you is:

I work out to be fit in my head and have an elevated sense of awareness about my physical being. Working out gives me an instant boost in confidence without which I really feel out of place, disconnected and lethargic at times.

Fruits or juices:

I prefer whole fruits and food instead of the processed juice, tera packs and other variants. I make sure to include 2 whole fruits in my diet regime and consume it before 5-6 pm

Stairs or lift:

In this concrete jungle, I do prefer escalators/lifts as it saves a lot of time and effort, especially when we are engaged in a hectic shoot schedule. I reside on the 30th floor and it is always better to preserve my energy so that I can channel it out in my weightlifting sessions.

Your best morning routine will comprise of:

An empty stomach cardiovascular exercise/activity followed by core and ab exercises as our insulin level is at its lowest in the mornings and it helps the body to rejuvenate, regenerate and trigger fat loss

Your favorite lockdown exercise:

With the onset of mini lockdown, I have converted my spare bedroom into a mini gym with all the required fitness equipment like a commercial bench, barbells, plates and dumbbells etc. I love working out, so all forms of exercise engage me.

Yoga or weights:

Combination of weights, core and cardiovascular exercises

Walking or jogging:

Both r boring for me

Your take on health supplements:

With all sorts of adulteration in veggies, poultry, and fruits happening around us, I really think we fall short of our daily dose of vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and proteins. If one’s physical activity is moderate and above I would recommend opting for some form of health supplements to compensate for the missing nutrients or accomplish any desired goal

Best way to burn calories:

Even if we don’t engage in any physical activity, we do burn some amount of calories as per our BMR (Basal metabolic rate) which results in the maintenance of our body weight. However, if the goal is to get rid of fat then you need to get into a caloric deficit, which means to eat lesser calories than required to maintain your body weight and work out as well.

Fat loss = calorie in < calorie out

Your take on six-pack abs:

It’s always an added advantage and something that every fitness enthusiast would wish for. But a lot depends on one’s genetics. At the moment I have 4 packs (smiles), but that being said there are a lot of sacrifices to be made in order to attain a super chiseled and shredded body and it is very difficult to maintain it all year round. Kab tak karloge yaar . Kabhi na kabhi to accha khaana khaoge ya nahi (laughs). For the 6 packs to be visible one needs to be below 8 percent fat. Even if you get it, it is very difficult to maintain it till the end of time.

Any personal goals in mind with regards to fitness:

Exercise and diet goes hand in hand. It’s like a seesaw, balancing which is an art where one gets a hang of it only after trial and error as every body is different. It is very important to converse with your body and understand in depth all of its traits to have an advantage.

One tip for everyday fitness:

Keep working out, have a balanced diet. Make sure you don’t miss out on proteins and good fats. Don’t overdo on carbs and make sure your carb quota is met by suitable, apt sources and not junk. Do indulge in guilt-free cheat meal once in a while as it is very important to treat your mind, soul and body as well.
