Felton tweeted a charming throwback photo of himself, Watson, and Alfred Enoch on the set of the Harry Potter films in March 2021. “I had a great crush on Tom Felton for the first two movies,” Watson previously told Seventeen magazine. “He was my first love interest. He is completely aware of the situation. It was brought up in conversation. We still have a good laugh over it. It’s great that we’ve become such good friends.”

In May 2002, Watson and Felton joined Rupert Grint and Robbie Coltrane for a DVD launch party for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

In July 2002, Watson and Felton walked the red carpet together at the London premiere of Scooby-Doo. Watson admits to looking for Felton’s name on the call sheet every day while filming at HBO Max’s Harry Potter reunion special. “Every day, I’d come in and search for his number on the call sheet, which was number seven, and if his name was on the call sheet, it was an extra-exciting day,” she explained.

In September 2003, Watson and Felton enjoyed a giggle while attending the Disney Channel Kids Awards in London. During the filming of HBO Max’s Harry Potter special, Felton said he acted like a big brother to Watson. “I grew quite protective of her,” he explained. “I’ve always had a warm spot in my heart for her, and I still do. There’s always been an underlying sense of, I don’t know, kinship.”

In May 2004, Watson hung out with Felton at the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and flashed a wide smile.

In July 2009, Felton and Watson joined their co-stars for a photocall for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
