Guru Randhawa, a Gurdaspur native, has won hearts all over the world with his charismatic personality and singing. Guru has been capturing hearts with his tune Dance Meri Rani, which he co-wrote with Nora Fatehi. He also holds the distinction of being the only Indian male musician to reach the milestone of 30 million Instagram followers.

Guru said: “It’s incredible to receive so much love from my followers and audiences all across the world. My sincere appreciation to everyone who has always liked and admired my music. It’s bizarre, and I’m at a loss for words to convey how I feel. This would not have been feasible without the help of my supporters. We’re breaking into new musical territory with Dance Meri Rani, introducing folks to Afro rhythms. It’s a catchy tune that’s been rendered in an intriguing way.”

Randhawa debuted on the music scene in 2012 with Same Girl, a duet with Arjun Coomaraswamy, a Sri Lankan-British singer-songwriter. For both artists, the song was a catastrophe. Randhawa published his debut track, Chhad Gayi, on YouTube a year later, with the support of his brother Ramneek. He released a number of songs over the next year or two, including Khali Bottlan, My Jugni, Modern Thumka, and Billo On Fire. None of them were successful. But, as the saying goes, the Universe adores a tenacious spirit.

Randhawa met Bohemia, a Pakistani-American rapper who had already established himself as a sensation at the time, by chance. Bohemia recognized something special in the 24-year-old performer and reached out to T-Series, an Indian music network with 156 million subscribers on YouTube. Patola was released as a result of their collaboration, and the rest is history, as they say.
