Film and TV actor Samir Soni feels that rakhi sister Arti Singh might turn out to be a dark horse who might go on to win Bigg Boss 13. “She has conducted herself with most grace under fire, not unnecessarily picking anyone. I don’t buy the theory that she is playing safe. You can’t fib for so long, so what comes out is your true self (best and worst). Having said that the makers would say only which side they want to show.”
As of now, Asim Riaz seems to be the firm favourite.”
Talking about the format, Samir, who was part of Bigg Boss 4 says, “ I find this season very bizarre, disturbing and violent but yet again it has most ratings, so I guess they are serving what viewers want. Such vouyrestic content panders to our baser instincts.”
“ Till now, the show was all about locking 14 people in a house and one who could hold his/her temper would win, but now it seems to boil down who provides the most entertainment. On the flip side, if they don’t scream and shout, they go unnoticed. It is also blatantly dragging their personal lives in the muck.”
“Sometimes I wonder after all this drama, will they get any dignified players next year? Till now this show was considered a big plus for any actor. But now it has become who can stoop the lowest .”
“The sad part is that Bigg Boss first lets them do their thing and then reprimands them. So in a way, it is a signal to go wild .”
“Luckily, during my time, the lines were blurred but not crossed so blatantly. Then only Dolly Bindra would shout, but here all (Vishal Aditya Singh, Paras Chhabra and Mahira Sharma etc) have all joined the melee.”
Back then, despite having Seema Parihar on board, she did not even abuse once, and here you have known celebs from decent families abusing each other’s parents,” adds Samir who was last seen in Student Of The Year 2.
“The mix this season is such that all have a history (Rashami Desai-Sidharth Shukla, and Himanshi Khurana – Shehnaaz Gill, etc ) against each other, which is a recipe for disaster. Shukla is a good actor having a YRF film under his belt. Still, he sure has temper issues which might hamper him getting work down the road,” he ends.
