Cute couple, Neel Motwani and Vindhya Tiwari, will soon be seen together in a big banner film as leads. “It is a simple love story, which will go on the floors at the end of next month is all that I can say for the moment, as I have been told not to talk about it,” says a very excited Neel, who has done a couple of films before.
“I am very excited about working with Vindhya again. We are in great sync, sharing similar creative vibes. It is always a dream come true for couples to get a joint project.” They had earlier worked together in the &TV show, Waaris, which also starred Neel’s ex-girlfriend, Farnaz Shetty, as the main lead. Interestingly, Farnaz also made her Hindi film debut with Battalion 609.
“I have always wanted to do films but never thought that it would happen so fast. It is not easy to cross over, but then I have never turned my back on hard work. I am inspired by the journey of fellow TV actors turned film stars, Sushant Singh Rajput and Mouni Roy.”
“I am also aware that making a film is easy but selling it is a different ball game. Hence we are only signing those projects which don’t have release issues. Also, we just can’t sit on our haunches saying life is tough; we need to keep trying, right? At the same time, have not long-time canned films become Box Office grossers?”
Talking about his Sapna Choudhary film, Dosti Ke Side Effects, which released in February, he says, “I was first supposed to be the main lead there; but due to dates, things did not work out and Vikrant Anand stepped in. Eventually, I played the baddie, but I have no problem as today, villains are the new heroes, getting to do a lot more in terms of modulation, layering, etc. Positive leads on the other hand get stuck somewhere. I had played negative even in Main Tera Hero, back in 2014.”
For the moment, Neel is giving TV a break, “For I am focusing my energies on my film.” Neel has been a part of TV for a while, having done serials such as Kundali Bhagya and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, before getting the lead in Waaris.
“Having said that, I regard TV as the best learning curve, given the fact that our scripts are written only the morning of the shoot, which we have to deliver with the correct emotions. Had I started out as a film actor first, I would not have been such a good artist, for cinema gives you the luxury of time to prep.”
