The actor performed it in the finest way possible. This is his one of the best performances so far. He will make you hate him but will force you to have empathy for the character at various places. There’s a certain sense of pain and ache in his demeanour, evident from films like Kai Po Che and shows like Breathe. Nearly every character he essayed has gone through loss and trauma. One has always associated Gulshan Devaiah with funny or funky or unconventional roles. But, this time round, he steps out of that comfort zone and surprises you with an extremely controlled performance and mostly poker-faced performance in ‘Duranga 2’. He shines bright in Duranga and delivers a nuanced performance. Portraying a restrained character who doesn’t feel emotions of love, happiness or sorrow and takes the help of online tutorials to learn to smile or cry is quick a quirk and Gulshan does it with conviction.
3. Drashti Dhami in a never seen before role
Drashti Dhami, a prominent figure in the Indian television industry has consistently dazzled audiences with her diverse acting portfolio however more often than not, she has played simple, girl next door roles. For the first time, Dhami has stepped out of her comfort zone to play the role of Inspector Ira in OTT series, Duranga. She portrays complex shades as a loving wife, a worried mother, a formidable cop and a human being with compassion. Fans who have seen the series are claiming that she has played Ira Patel to the T and what was most impressive was seeing Drashti do action sequences on her own without the help of a body double.
4. Child actor Hera Mishra’s cute and unmissable role
The character of Anya starts as an innocent-looking girl but undergoes a chilling transformation in Season 2. Her friendship with Amit Sadh’s character leads her to
believe in retribution for wrongdoings. The moment she coldly assaults a classmate and then conceals her true nature with an innocent facade is both shocking and psychologically complex, adding to the show’s thriller elements.
5. Barkha Bisht’s shocking revelations
Prachi Banne (played by Barkha Bisht), a previously unknown character, emerges in Season 2 as Abhishek Banne’s estranged sister. Her involvement in a shocking crime from their school days, with her brother taking the blame, is a major plot point. Her unsettling confession and lack of remorse for the act will leave viewers astounded. Barkha has done a phenomenal job portrayal the complexities of the character and the fans are in for a treat.
