It has been precisely one year since the last communication from Zulfi on July 23, 2022. The last CCTV footage of Zulfi leaving Nairobi Restaurant, waiting to board a car, remains the last known sighting of him. Unfortunately, no one has any information on his whereabouts since then. The Indian and Kenyan governments have not provided any clear updates on the measures taken to locate him or the results of the arrests made during the investigation.
It looks like a dead end for some, but it’s hard to believe that someone as smart, suave, and articulate as Zulfi could find himself in a dire situation and couldn’t talk his way out. The lack of communication, clues, or remains leaves us with a lot of doubt and suspicion about the investigation and the intent behind finding him.
As friends of Zulfi, “it is difficult to accept that he will not come back to us, and we once again urge the Indian High Commission in Kenya and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Kenya, to find him and provide us with closure.”
