Young and talented actor Naveen Pandita, who is known for his roles in the shows Gandii Baat, Aap Ke Aa Jaane Se, and Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara, is currently entertaining the masses as Ashwin in Sony Sab’s latest offering Pushpa Impossible. The actor is extremely serious about his fitness routine. And whenever he has time on hand, he does not miss out on hitting the gym and working on his body. In a fun fitness segment, Naveen revealed his workout routine, cheat food, and more.

What is your cheat food?

I have a big sweet tooth! My cheat food is mainly something like pastry or ice cream.

Favourite exercise?

When I am in the gym and I go around twice a week, I like to work on my biceps, triceps, and back. Ever since I started working in Pushpa Impossible, I have become more religious about staying fit and healthy.

Your best morning routine will comprise of

I am an early riser and try to wake up by 5-5:30 AM for at least 5 days of the week then I meditate for 15 to 20 mins, it makes my day easier. I have a ritual of drinking around a liter of lukewarm water and then having my morning coffee along with dry fruits or one apple or banana. I also go for jogs or to the gym, depending on the day.

Fruits or juices?

I prefer fruits over juices because a lot of the fiber is lost in the juice. Also, fruits in my opinion are more fulfilling to consume.

Stairs or lift?

It depends if I am in a high-rise building or not. If I am going to a lower floor I prefer the stairs, otherwise the lift.

Your favourite lockdown exercise

I used to do a full-body workout during the lockdown. I did around 100-200 push-ups and 100-200 squats of different variations, and 15 minutes of jogging in my society. This routine helped me stay in shape when everything was shut down and inaccessible.

Yoga Or Weights

I do both yoga and weights on alternate days. It helps me maintain the agility, balance, and flexibility that one may lose while doing just weights. Yoga makes my day go better as my mind is calm and relaxed and helps me give my best to the role of Ashwin in Pushpa Impossible.

Walking or Jogging

Depends on my mood but I actually dislike running or jogging and prefer walking. I still do it though as it helps burn calories faster. I have stopped sprinting as over a long run your knee joints wear out at a much faster rate.

Your take on health supplements

I used to take health supplements before I learned about their long-term effect on our bodies after learning more about fitness. Now I believe taking a well-balanced meal regularly is all you need to be fit and healthy.

Best way to burn calories

The best way to burn calories is by doing high-intensity workouts. Other than this there is something called standing calories which you burn while doing menial movements throughout the day like standing, moving your limbs around, and even blinking! This is because a calorie is just a unit of energy so just move around a lot and eat consciously.

One tip for everyday fitness

Nowadays there is a trend where some motivators imply that having bulging biceps and six packs is the fitness goal everyone should have. That’s not true, fitness is just a part of your life, not your entire life. Just exercise daily for 45 mins and eat a healthy, well-balanced diet and don’t blindly believe the fitness advice, do what works best for your body.
