Hollywood is being taken over by social media stars! Since the video-sharing app became popular in late 2019, Addison Rae and Charli D’Amelio have been among the top TikTok breakout stars. They’ve picked up endorsement agreements, reality series, podcasts, and even acting gigs, but they’re far from alone. Some of their friends and collaborators have gone on to have successful acting careers as a result of the app.

The Sway House boys — Bryce Hall, Josh Richards, Noah Beck, Blake Gray, Griffin Johnson, and Kio Cyr — have their own reality programme, Sway Life, which isn’t exactly an acting career. The social media series, dubbed “a new and exciting docuseries,” will run on IGTV and Facebook Watch and give audiences an inside look into what the fellas dubbed “The Sway way, baby.”

Following the show’s launch, Josh and Griffin both appeared on “Victory the Podcast,” where they teased that the next stage in their careers would be to conquer the acting industry. When asked if the lads aspired to be movie stars, Griffin replied, “That’s what we’re working on.” For these TikTok boys, big things are in the works!

In January 2021, fellow online sensations Chase Hudson and Jaden Hossler (who appear to have put their issues aside) made their acting debut in the Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun-directed short film Downfalls High.

Following the screening of the film, Jaden tweeted to Chase, “Congrats on the movie mate, u crushed it.” “Thanks Jaden, my favorite part was when I punched you in the face…,” the Hype House member said. Thank you, Jaden, I really appreciate it. We’ve known each other for a long time, so doing a film together was an f–king thrill.”

Chase appeared as Fenix James, a misfit navigating high school while falling in love with Scarlett (played by Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney), and was dubbed the “first of its type musical cinematic experience” by both MGK and Mod Sun on social media. The music from MGK’s Tickets to My Downfall album is used throughout the whole 49-minute video.

Other online stars have stepped out of the TikTok pattern to boost their careers, including Chase and Jaden, who improved their acting skills for this endeavor.
