In an interview with Arnab Goswami on Friday evening on Republic TV Network, Kangana Ranaut has questioned the competence of the Mumbai police in investigating Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

She questioned the cops’ line of questioning and cast serious aspersions on the choice of persons they are calling for questioning.

Lashing out at the film industry Kangana said, “These people are emotional vultures. They want to see people lynch themselves. To date, Mahesh Bhatt is selling Parveen Babi’s illness in so many versions through his films. Why is Mumbai Police not summoning Aditya Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar, Rajeev Masand? These 4 people. Why, because they are powerful? With this interview, I only have things to lose.”

Incidentally, Kangana had played Parveen Babi in Mahesh Bhatt’s Woh Lamhe in 2006

In the same interview, she defends Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shekhar Kapur and wonders why they’ve been called for questioning about Sushant. “Mumbai Police investigation is a complete sham. I have said no to Bhansali’s Padmaavat but he hasn’t done anything vengeful. He doesn’t gang up on anyone but he’s being summoned. Shekhar Kapur, a God-like figure in the industry is being summoned.”

Reacting to her allegations a close friend of Karan Johar says, “Karan will go (for questioning) if he is called. But it seems some people won’t rest easy until he’s completely destroyed.”
