Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has disclosed that his wife Anushka Sharma, like him, has a unique connection to Bengaluru, the franchise’s home city. Kohli stated on the “RCB Podcast,” a trailer for which was released on Wednesday, that Anushka had spent “far more time” in the city than he has.

He claimed that the famous actress grew up in Bengaluru and that the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s on-field performances had an affect on her as well. Kohli further stated that captaining RCB and spending time here was always a bonus for them and that it felt like “everything coming together” for them because it allowed Anushka to relive her childhood.

According to the 33-year-old, “She’s from Bangalore. There, she’s an adult. Many people are unaware that she has spent far more time in Bangalore than I have. And she already has a strong relationship with the city.

So she’s clearly overjoyed that I’m playing for the RCB, and my commitment will always be to this team and this city… She clearly senses our sadness when we don’t perform as well as we should.

And, as I previously stated, she has a unique connection to Bangalore, so it was just a matter of everything falling into place in the most perfect way for her when I happened to be playing in the city, and she gets to return to Bangalore and relive her wonderful memories of growing up there. She just adores it.”
