Gautam Gambhir

The cricketer-turned-politician fumed at a tweet that celebrated MS Dhoni’s six at the 2011 world cup. Gautam said that the world cup was won by the entire team, and not just with MS Dhoni’s six.

Calling out a tweet that was seen celebrating MS Dhoni’s six, Gautam Gambhir said, “Just a reminder @ESPNcricinfo: #worldcup2011 was won by entire India, entire Indian team & all support staff. High time you hit your obsession for a SIX.”

Yuvraj Singh

There were times when Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag were known to be friends, however, things turned ugly, when Singh claimed that MS Dhoni betrayed him and other senior players.

Yuvraj Singh, talking to Sports 18, said, “Look at Mahi (MS Dhoni) towards the end of his career. He had so much support from Virat and Ravi Shastri. They took him to the World Cup, he played till the end and went on to play 350 games. I think support is very important but in Indian cricket, everybody will not get support,”

Virendar Sehwag

The former cricketer was one amongst many who slammed MS Dhoni for his behaviour towards the senior players.

Sehwag said, “When MS Dhoni said in Australia that top three are slow fielders, we were never asked or consulted. We got to know from the media. He said at the press conference but not at the team meeting that we are slow fielders,”

Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh too accused MS Dhoni, for whom his cricket career came to an early end. What’s more, he also added that the biggest insult was when all the senior cricketers’ efforts were discarded during the 2011 world cup.

Harbhajan Singh talking to India TV said, “How can someone with 400 wickets be discarded is a mysterious story in itself, which hasn’t been unravelled yet. I still wonder, ‘What really happened? Who had a problem with me staying in the team?”He further added, “I tried to ask the captain [Dhoni] why, but I wasn’t given a reason. I realised there is no point in me asking for the reason for this treatment, and who is behind it because if you keep asking and no one replies, then it’s better to leave it,” as quoted by Men XP.
