Beautiful and talented actress Jaswinder Gardner, who is known for her acting chops in TV shows Ek Deewaana Tha, Kaleerein, Luv Kush, Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat 2, feels fortunate to play two drastically different roles in two shows simultaneously. Jaswinder is playing the roles of Suraiya in Namak Issk Ka and Savitri in Ishk Par Zor Nahi.

Talking about her two projects, she said, “When I was offered the character of Suraiya in Namak Issk Ka, I was thrilled. I have never attempted such kind of role in my career. It is not a negative character but has grey shades to it. It’s a great opportunity so I agreed to take up the role. It is a tawaif’s character, so the look is very different. On the other hand, I am playing a totally different character of Savitri in Ishk Par Zor Nahi. I play the lead boy Ahaan’s mother. She is abandoned and tortured in the mental asylum but is desperate to meet her kids whom she hasn’t seen for over 18 years.”

She further added, “I feel blessed to play diverse roles at the same time. Both Ishk Par Zor Nahi and Namak Issk Ka are produced by Four Lions, the producer of Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka where I played a very important character of Tabeezi. I am glad about the kind of roles I am being offered. Though Suraiya is a guest appearance, for now, I immediately took it up as it was definitely a challenging and extremely interesting part to play.”

When asked about her preparations for Suraiya’s role, she shared, “There was no preparation for it. As an actor when you evolve with every role, you start understanding the characters and feel them. For me, it is important to feel the character to get into the skin of it. On TV, we don’t get much time to prepare. I wish we had.”

Jaswinder got immense support and praise from her family. She mentioned, “My family, friends, and fans were impressed by my performance as Suraiya. My son did tell me that ‘mamma, are you playing a positive character or a negative one?’ I explained to him. And soon he said ‘please don’t play negative’ and it was funny.”

Good luck Jaswinder!
