Your character of Vidyut has been like a pendulum moving between two extremes. How has this journey been for you?

Ya, my character has been like a typical pendulum. I was an antagonist doing all the bad stuff when my role started in Yeh Hai Chahatein. Vidyut hated the sight of Pihu initially. Even though my character was very positive with Rudraksh, I was a bad guy to Pihu and Raj. Now, Vidyut has become a romantic guy, as he has fallen in love with Pihu. I believe that I am a versatile actor. When I got this opportunity to play both the positive and negative roles in the same show, I accepted it with both hands. I must say, I am enjoying my journey to the core.

Which has been the most satisfying phase in the story for you as a performer?

To tell you, I never get satisfied with my performance. I give my best in every scene. But when I get home, I tend to think about it and feel that I could have performed it better. Having said this, my scenes with Raj where I was very negative, were enjoyable. Now, I am having my love scenes with Pihu which are being loved.

The love confession sequence where Vidyut walks on coal was one good watch. How was it to shoot as a crazy romantic?

Yes, viewers were waiting for this particular sequence. Vidyut wanted Pihu to accept his love. So he was blind in love and walked on burning coal. I thank my Director Ashish Patilji, who helped me a lot with this scene. Pragati’s performance was brilliant in this scene.

How is it to pair up with Pragati? How do you both gel on and off the screen?

We are very good friends. She is the perfect fit for Pihu’s role. We started with hatred and now are romancing each other on screen. Off the screen, we are good friends. We discuss our scenes, and we eat and chill together. Simply enjoying this phase. We tease each other, we fight and even forget our differences off the screen.

How important has this role in Yeh Hai Chahatein been for you, considering that you have had tracks of your own in it?

Yes, I have learned a lot from Vidyut. I have him inside me when I enter the set. Vidyut never accepts something wrong. The same is with Jeevansh. So it becomes easier for me. This character is very important in my career. I thank the entire team for this opportunity.

What is your forte as a performer?

My hard work is my forte. My father is an actor. So acting is in my genes. So I have always had this spark and energy to become a good performer. I want people to watch me whenever I am on screen.

How has your growth in the industry been? Are you satisfied? What are your goals?

As I have told you earlier, it is not in my nature to get satisfied. We should not get greedy and we should not be satisfied too. I will want this attitude of mine to stay with me. It pushes me to work harder. My growth has been steady. I started as a negative character in the Dangal show Ranju Ki Betiyaan. My goals are very big; I want to be a star. I need to work hard to get where I want to be.

How is this phase for you where Vidyut is being trapped and shown as negative?

It is another good phase, wherein Vidyut has been trapped, and is in jail. This is a sad phase and Vidyut wants to prove his innocence. He can never kill Rudr Bhai. This is a track that gives Vidyut a lot of sympathies.
All know that Vidyut can never kill Rudraksh. So it is not coming across as a negative character.

How is the response been to this transformation?

The response has been amazing. Earlier, they loved Vidyut for his negative image. Now, they love the romantic track of Vidyut and Pihu. They have named our Jodi as ViHu. I am enjoying this phase of the show.
