This episode starts with Samar and Bapuji helping Vanraj rest, Vanraj also apologizes for the drama at Tohsu’s wedding. Bapuji is disheartened as Vanraj doesn’t realize his mistakes and is unapologetic. Vanraj is reminiscent of insulting Kavya and goes to sleep.
Bapuji and Samar gift Anupamaa a watch for her first day of work and she is happy. Bapuji is worried for her and asks her to do her best. Anupamaa also reassures Bapuji that she would take good care of Vanraj despite their troubled relationship.
At breakfast, everyone wishes each other Happy New Year and is happy, but Baa is mad at Anupamaa and thinks that she wants to go out and have fun instead of staying at home. Vanraj lets her go and says that he can take care of himself with the help of Samar. She greets everyone and leaves for work.
On her way back home, Anupamaa buys fruits and remembers the time when Vanraj got fruits for everyone at home. Kinjal and Toshu return home from their honeymoon and greet everyone. Seeing Vanraj, they ask about his health when Vanraj says he’s good, Kinjal asks him to return home and says that this is her mother’s house and he should’ve thought about that before leaving them behind. She also yells at him for all the drama that was caused at her wedding and starts arguing with Baa.
Anupamaa interferes and asks Kinjal to stop, but she argues that she’s just telling the truth and despises the man who caused her mother and her so much trouble. She says she will not stop talking her heart out for her own and for her mother’s good. Everyone is shocked as she walks towards her room.
