Vikram Singh Chauhan, who has been part of good shows Jaana Na Dil Se Door, Ek Deewaana, is currently the lead of Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka the Star Plus show.

He also forayed into the digital space with ALTBalaji and ZEE5’s latest offering Baarish. Now, the second season of the popular web series is out and the actor is elated about the same.

In an exclusive interview, the actor spoke about Baarish season 2 and his quarantine life. Excerpts.

How was your experience working on Baarish season 2?

It was great and you know it’s always good to be back as it’s more like a family now. Asha, Priya and others we all bonded well. I couldn’t get much time as I was also simultaneously shooting for my daily soap Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka so I could only be on the sets for 2-4 hours. I used to come and shoot for my scenes and return to my other set. For me, the interaction was not much but whatever time I spent with the team, I think it was wonderful. And especially our director, she was fabulous. She used to get homemade food for us and we used to relish. I can never forget. It is more like a homely feeling whenever I went to Baarish sets.

What will attract the audience most about part 2?

The simplicity and relatable factor will attract audiences. It is a simple story hence people will fall for its simplicity. With this particular series, you will connect more with your heart than your brain.

How has your bond evolved with the co-stars?

It was a great bond with the entire cast. Asha (Negi) hails from Dehradun and I also belong to the same place, so we had a lot in common to talk about. With Priya (Banerjee) I share a great bond as in season 1 we had major scenes together. However, in season 2, I don’t have many scenes with her. However, we had a lot of fun in season 2.

Are you missing shoot?

Now, I am missing. However, initially, I was happy as it was a good break from shooting. As I was shooting regularly for Baarish and Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka. I used to almost shoot for 18 to 20 hours a day. I was quite okay for a month but now I am very bored as I stay alone. I have to do my household work. Initially, be it cooking or cleaning, I was enjoying it and was really motivated to do everything. But now whenever I hear the news of lockdown extension, I get a little low and as of now, I want the shoot to start.

Have you explored something new during your free time?

I am majorly involved in household work and cooking as I stay alone. I also learned cooking during quarantine and I am pretty good now. I talk to my friends via video calling and also workout to remain fit. I am also doing an acting course so I participate in the online classes. I am also learning to play the guitar. There is a lot to do. My day is more hectic during the quarantine. Staying alone is not easy. While cooking, I also burnt my hand. I was not aware of a few cooking tips which were essential hence had to face a few mishaps. Also, I remember that I always tell my maid that you don’t clean the vessels properly. However, I have realized I myself don’t do it properly. During this time I have realized that working in the kitchen is a painful job. I respect people who work in the kitchen and cook. I understand it’s a tough job. People who make the perfect roti are legends as it’s been 40 days and I can’t still make a perfect roti. Now, I only have rice as making roti is not easy. I have immense respect for people who do household work.

What is the first thing you will do post lockdown?

I will go and get a haircut. I have also stopped doing live chat as I don’t want people to start unfollowing me. I will change my look. I would want to go to shoot and work.

Any message for fans?

I would only like to say that watch Baarish 2 as you will love it. Also, be safe and stay home.
