Candid chat with Tanvi Thakkar

Vikram Bhatt sir is a very considerate film director: Tanvi Thakkar

Tanvi Thakkar, currently doing Bepannah Pyaar on Colors, is very excited about her first Bollywood project, Hacked, also starring Hina Khan, Roshan Shah and Mohit Malhotra.

“This Vikram Bhatt-directed interesting story is not only centred around the net, as the title suggests, but much more. I will not say more for the moment, except that it is a powerful and challenging role, which will open bigger vistas for me.”

Talking about her sched, she says, “I have finished half of my days and will shoot the remaining, including chunks with Hina Khan. So far, I was doing my bit with Rohan only.”

“I just crashed into Hina once when I was doing my look, and she was very sweet.”

This is Tanvi’s second collaboration with a Vikram Bhatt production. “Earlier, I was part of Maaya 2, helmed by Vikram’s daughter, Krishna. But here I am working with Sir himself. He is a filmmaker of repute, so I can learn a lot from him on set.”

“Shooting for a film is a different experience, compared to TV. In cinema, we get bound scripts and confirmed shoot dates, unlike TV, where you not only get lines on the day of the shot, but also your schedule only comes by 11 pm the night before.”

“Above all, there is no haste. We end up canning only around 2 scenes a day, while in TV it is much more, as we are always running against the clock. Films also give you time to get into the skin of your character.”

“But again, I have no grudges against the medium that has made me who I am.”

Talking more about Vikam Bhatt, Tanvi, who gained name and fame with shows like Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Miley Jab Hum Tum and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, says, “Vikram Sir is a thorough gentleman. I remember, once there was to be a gap of 2 hours between my shots and being used to tube work, I was ok with it. But Sir personally called and said I am sorry but you will have to wait. I was so touched by his concern.”

“He also confirmed me for the project without meeting me. This shows he liked my work.”

In closing, we ask her about the buzz of Bepanah Pyaar shutting down. “We have not been told anything as such, and we continue to shoot as normal. I am having a blast doing both TV and films,” ended she.
