The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Sirat finding Kairav upset. He tells her that dad always comes alone, this time he wanted both his parents to be there. He wanted to introduce her to his friends. Sirat says why he didn’t tell her before. She asks what time is the program, Kairav says 1 pm. She says she has break time so will come during that. Kairav asks what if dad gets angry. Sirat says they will keep it a secret for him. The next morning Sirat tells Aarohi and Akshu to not trouble Suwarna. Mahesh tells Kartik to join him at the office. Kartik says he will work from home so that he can spend time with the kids and also attend Kairav’s school program. Manish tells him to not ignore work for kids and others are there to take care of them. Kartik assures him that the meeting will go fine. Kartik tells Sirat to go and not take tension. Kairav asks Sirat if she will come, Sirat nods. Kartik asks what’s going on. Sirat says it’s between both of them.
Sirat practices, Arvind says it’s break time. Sirat says time got over quickly. Arvind tells her to meet the federation people. Sirat says she told him earlier that she has to go to her son’s school. Arvind says they came suddenly and he can’t send them back. Kartik is stuck in a traffic jam. Kairav is waiting for both of them. A boy tells Kairav teacher is calling him. Sirat talks with the federation people. They praise her saying she can win gold for them. They say she needs a better coach, so they will put her under Mukesh Rathod. Sirat gets shocked, she says she won’t practice with him as his rule is wrong. Coach Arvind knows her strengths and weaknesses well and he is sincere. Mukesh is a fraud person and she rejects to work with him. The federation people leave, Arvind tells Sirat to listen to them. Sirat says he and Sikander have helped her come so far, she won’t get trained by Mukesh.
Arvind says he will try talking to them. He tells her to go to her son’s school. Sirat says it must be over by now. She calls Kartik who says the program is over so she should come back home. Sirat wonders why Kartik sounded upset. Kartik comes home with kids. Kairav hugs Dadi and cries. Suwarna asks why he is upset. Kartik says he reached late for the function. Vansh says Sirat promised to come and didn’t come. Sirat comes there apologizing, Kairav throws the trophy saying if she didn’t want to come why she promised him. Kairav goes to his room. Sirat says she was going to come during the break but her coach asked her to meet federation people. She asks Kartik why he didn’t go. He says the meeting went long so he got late. Surekha tells Sirat to handle the kid’s responsibility properly. Kartik says even he got late, should he leave his business and sit home.
Kairav tells Vansh he will never speak with them again. Kartik and Sirat ask Kairav to open the door. Kairav tells them to leave him alone. Sirat tries to open the door with a hairpin. Kartik tells her they should give Kairav some time. Dadi asks if Kairav agreed, Kartik and Sirat say no. Suwarna says he is upset because Sirat didn’t come as he wanted to introduce her to his friends. Surekha says Kairav loves Sirat a lot but she doesn’t care. Kartik says Sirat loves Kairav too. He also got late so why are they only blaming Sirat. He says his parents would also sometimes not attend his school programs, he never considered them bad. Kairav is a child and will forget about it tomorrow. Sirat says no they have to do something to make him smile. Kartik wonders what Sirat will do. Kairav hears his teacher’s voice and comes out. He sees the whole family watching the video of him receiving the trophy. They all cheer and clap for him, Kairav gets happy seeing this.
