We are unable to sit back as Diwali comes! We all deserve some joy and celebrations after the last few years we spent battling the pandemic. So we made the decision to provide you with a crash course in everything about Diwali and a Diwali Diya in order to make this Diwali a little easier for you!

According to Vastu shastra, many think that the wick of a diya represents the Atma or soul, and the ghee, or oil, represents negativity in your mind. You banish negativity from your mind and soul by lighting the Diya. This makes room for uplifting thoughts to enter.

Diwali Diya lighting is a symbol of good triumphing over evil. Typically, Amavasya, or the night without a moon, is the day we celebrate Diwali. Diyas that are lit help to dispel the darkness of the night by spreading light.

On Diwali, people worship the gods Lakshmi, Ganesha, and Kuber in many parts of India. You welcome them into your homes by lighting diyas in various locations, bringing luck, money, and success with them.

Let’s see these 5 places for your Diwali Diya

Where you set your diya determines whether you invite good or bad energy into your home.

The first diya in your pooja room should be lit.
The Tulsi plant is connected to Goddess Lakshmi in Vastu. Place diyas close to your tulsi or holy basil plant if you have one.
Install diyas in your kitchen in place of a tulsi plant.
Keep your diyas pointed north or northeast to attract money into your life.
Install your diyas facing east to enhance your health.
Keeping candles close to water containers helps ward against disease, boost wealth, and dispel negativity.
