Harris Reed, the young British designer behind Iman’s instantly iconic Met Gala costume this year, is swiftly establishing himself as a star in his own right. Emma Watson, who now makes only sporadic red carpet appearances, wore an upcycled look from Reed’s newest ‘Found’ collection to the Earthshot Prize Awards in London this past weekend for the first time in two years.

Given that she joined the Green Carpet Challenge in 2015—which encourages participants to wear sustainable brands and designers on red carpets—no it’s a surprise that she chose an upcycled look from Reed’s newest ‘Found’ collection. Scroll down to see the actress’s outfit in detail.

First and foremost, Watson deserves enormous respect for continuing to walk the walk when it comes to sustainable fashion, even at events as prestigious as the Met Gala (to which she wore a sustainable gown in 2019). Second, it is to Reed’s credit that he is able to prioritize sustainability and conservation without sacrificing any of his brand’s aesthetics or design.

Reed’s whole ‘Found’ collection is based on repurposing bridal gowns from Oxfam, a poverty-fighting organization. The same can be said for Watson’s white dress, which she wore over Reed’s distinctive flared black slacks. Because skinnier-legged pants would make this look top-heavy, the flare on the trousers adds a feeling of balance and proportion.
