It’s pretty much a universally acknowledged truth that you can’t be a music band if you don’t have at least a few major love songs under your belt, regardless of how attractive your members are or how entertaining the music is. By performing their required number of love-themed songs, One Direction long ago solidified their image as a heartthrob. One Direction has undoubtedly written a song about anything that has ever happened in a relationship, whether it be the early stages of falling in love, the latter stagesof being in an established relationship, or even songs about love gone wrong.

1. “Little Things”

This Ed Sheeran composition, which is likely One Direction’s most well-known love song, is about loving someone for all the unique qualities they possess. When you are completely smitten with someone, you fail to notice their imperfections. Although Harry may now omit a few phrases when performing live, the sentiment is still admirable.

2. “Gotta Be You”

The theme of “Gotta Be You,” the song that gave rise to a thousand Liam memes, is wanting a second chance despite knowing you made a mistake. You can only hope that they will give you another chance to win them back. Another heartbreaking high note has prevented the boys from performing this live for some time.

3. “Fool’s Gold”

When you fall in love with the wrong person, it hurts, especially if you already know they aren’t the right fit for you. We’ve all had awful boy crushes, after all (hello, Perrie!). However, there are instances when you just can’t help giving your heart to someone even though you know they would shatter it. Harry did a fantastic job with this one.
