Aurora Aksnes is a musical force to be reckoned with, with nature-inspired lyrics and an exquisite voice. Her lyrics are never formulaic or infantile, despite the fact that she has been composing songs since she was nine years old. With the news that her song “Queendom” will be released as the lead single from her second album, it’s safe to assume that the twenty-one-year-old Norwegian will soon be ruling festivals and independent radio stations all over the world.

Have you ever heard of AURORA? Here are five tracks that will persuade you of her abilities!

1.”Running With The Wolves”

This song is about getting away from consumerism and getting back in touch with nature. I think the video does a fantastic job of demonstrating this!

2.”Conqueror”

She noted in an interview with iHeartRadio that this song is about discovering a hero inside yourself rather than depending on someone else to save you.

This incredible performance of “Conqueror” was her very first appearance on American television!

3.”Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)”

This music is evocative and spooky! It’s a bleak tale of a girl who is murdered “for mercy” by a guy who “didn’t want to hurt her.”

This live rendition of the song somehow manages to make it even more eerie and melancholy than it already is!

4.”Winter Bird”

This is my personal favorite song from her album, All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend! It’s such a lovely tune!

5.”I Went Too Far”

This song is about passionately wanting someone to love you and doing crazy things to get their attention, just to realize that you are deserving of more. It’s fantastic!
