It’s always painful to learn of someone’s death, whether or not they were close to you. It’s often heartbreaking to learn about celebrities going away, whether or not we knew them personally. For example, if you grew up listening to Linkin Park, getting the tragic news of Chester’s death could have been devastating. We don’t know him personally, but we get the impression that we do because we investigate them, listen to their music, watch their interviews, and participate actively in their lives. If you grew up listening to music, the news that one of your favourite performers, whom you admired and looked up to, has died may affect you harder than you expect. Here’s a list of singers who passed away due to substance abuse.
