Kim Taehung known by his popular stage name V is a vocalist of South Korean group BTS. V belongs to a farmer’s family in South Korea and as a child, he always thought that he would become a farmer in the future. However, things changed when V started learning Saxophone. He adored Saxophone so much that he would have chased it professionally. He was interested in singing and believed that singers need to know dance and so he joined dance classes too. To an audition from Big Hit Entertainment, V accompanied his friend only to cheer up. However, a team member from Big Hit Entertainment motivated V to audition and to everyone’s amazement, V is the only person to be selected for the next round on that day from Daegu.

Kim Taehung coined the phrase ‘I Purple You’ during BTS’ fan meeting. He explains its meaning as “Purple is the last color of the rainbow colors, so it means I will trust and love you for a long time” said V during a live performance.

It’s actually challenging to imagine V doing anything else apart from being a farmer because he’s such a natural-born performer. V has so much aura on stage and his energy is catching. When V performed his solo song “Intro: Singularity” on BTS fans couldn’t help but fade over his seductive charms and flawless vocals.

V’s journey to stardom is surprising because his undebatable talent nearly led him in a different direction. Although V had no goals on becoming a star, he’s now precisely where he’s fated to be.
