Selena Gomez, an actress, and singer was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on July 22, 1992. She is the child of Ricardo Gomez and Mandy Teefey. Her father is Mexican, and her mother has some Italian blood. Selena, a Tejano artist who passed away in 1995, inspired her name. Alongside Demi Lovato from 2002 to 2004, she played the character “Gianna” in the iconic children’s television series Barney & Friends from the 1990s. Gomez also appeared in the films House Broken, Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire, and Spy Kids 3: Game Over (2006).

When Gomez landed the lead role of “Alex Russo” in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, she relocated to Los Angeles, California (2007). She then appeared in Another Cinderella Story on ABC Family in 2008 and made her voice debut in Horton Hears a Who! In 2008, and co-starred in Princess Protection Program with her childhood friend Demi Lovato (2009). Gomez’s debut album with her band, “Selena Gomez & the Scene,” was published in 2009 and debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 album rankings. Later, Gomez and her band put out two more albums and appeared in the movies Hotel Transylvania, Spring Breakers, and Monte Carlo (2011). (2012).

She acted in the films Rudderless (2014), Getaway (2013), and Behaving Badly (2013). (2014). Her second solo album, “Revival,” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 list (2016). In 2020, she released “Rare,” her third solo album.
