Selena Gomez is a chameleon, juggling music, television, film, and, most recently, fashion: she has been selected the new face of Coach late last year, a position that will almost certainly include design. In her outfit, Gomez is also a shape-shifter, straddling the border between young and soigné at will. Without breaking a beat, she completed three clothing changes in less than 24 hours.

The singer contemplated the perfect weekend uniform after landing down in New York in a stunning rocker airport suit. She wore Re/Done cropped flares with a mohair striped sweater top from Alexa Chung’s (very) new fashion collection, always one step ahead of the game. A JW Anderson cross-body purse kept her hands free to enjoy an ice cream cone with pals in Hell’s Kitchen, while Mansur Gavriel suede sandals provided a complementing play on color and texture.

She met artist Petra Collins for dinner at Park Side in Queens a few hours later, dressed in a vintage floral minidress and carrying the same purse. The wrap silhouette was taken into the after-dark zone by Giuseppe Zanotti peep-toes, and the platform heel was perfect for what Gomez had planned for the remainder of the night. She wore a sleeveless shift dress by David Koma with metal and ribbon details before traveling to a party in Brooklyn. She didn’t change her accessories, either, since why bother when your bag and shoes can keep you looking stylish all night.
