Adele went viral on TikTok in the last week, despite the fact that she insists she doesn't compose TikTok music.

With the debut of Spotify’s annual Wrapped experience, it’s been a wild year on the internet, and even TikTok wasn’t immune to the Spotify Wrapped debate.

Of course, Adele’s 2015 song “Water Under the Bridge” went viral after the singer’s latest album was released, so that wasn’t the only thing trending on TikTok. Surprisingly, reality TV stars Wendy Ostefo and Kylie Jenner each had a moment on the app last week.

Adele’s long-awaited album 30, which was released three weeks ago, was well-received. The British singer made it clear in an interview with Zane Lowe that she didn’t make this album for TikTok. She said: “Who is making music for my generation, who is making music for my peers if everyone is making music for TikTok? That position appeals to me, and I will gladly accept it.”

Adele, on the other hand, has a TikTok song in her repertoire. In December, her song “Water Under the Bridge,” from her 2015 album 25, went viral on the app.

On Nov. 29, @treclements posted what looks to be the first “Water Under the Bridge” video on TikTok, with the words “my audition to be Adele’s back-up dancer.” “Saw this on Twitter and have been hollering ever since,” the description reads. Clements’ video has nearly 950,000 likes and 4.2 million views.

Julian Burzynski’s TikTok, which was posted on December 1 and has over 3.5 million views and 121,000 likes, is another illustration of the trend.
