TIME Magazine unveiled the list of the year’s most significant figures in each field on December 5. BLACKPINK was one of them and was the first girl group to win Entertainer of the Year.

According to the magazine, the biggest female band in the world and the trend-setting emblem of this generation is BLACKPINK. The article also praises BLACKPINK for being the K-pop act that did the best on international music charts this year and breaking numerous records with its most recent second full-length album.

Despite modestly referring to themselves as “very normal girls,” as Jennie put it, TIME Magazine honors their achievements in 2022, including attending the VMAs, embarking on their successful world tour, having their album “Born Pink” become the best-selling Korean girl group album of all time, and holding the title of the largest musical act on YouTube.

In response, BLACKPINK told TIME Magazine, “We’re happy when we produce music. Because we always have a good time, good things happen.” The four celebrities also thank their fans BLINK, saying, “I think the power of our followers who love and support us continually is the primary reason. We appreciate it in our hearts and always try our best.”

Before this, BLACKPINK was chosen as one of the artists for TIME 100 NEXT in 2019 and as a contender for TIME’s Person of the Year in 2020, demonstrating their consistent influence and rising stature in the field.
