Umran Malik, the fast bowler of Indian cricket team, broke Jasprit Bumrah’s record of bowling the fastest delivery by an Indian pacer when he dismissed Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka in the first T20I, which India won by 2 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, as per reports in Hindustan Times.

The pace sensation returned with two wickets and conceded 27 runs in his four overs. During his spell, Umran clocked 155kph on the speed gun, which was also the fastest ball of the match. Shanaka wanted to drive it over extra cover but the extra pace did not allow him to get the elevation, sliced it to extra cover where Yuzvendra Chahal took a sharp catch close to his body.

Umran’s incredible feat saw him eclipse Jasprit Bumrah’s record for clocking the highest speed among Indian pacers. Bumrah’s highest speed to be recorded so far stands at 153.36 kph. The pacer, who was included for the Sri Lanka ODIs on Tuesday, is followed by Mohammed Shami (153.3 kph), Navdeep Saini (152.85 kph).
