Vijay Shankar is an Indian professional cricketer who represents the Indian national cricket team. He is known for his amazing talent as an all-rounder who bowls right-handed and bats right-handed, do you remember anyone with the same caliber? Yes, you do, Ravindra Jadeja unlike him, is left-handed. He was selected for the 2019 World Cup to represent the team India. Representing his hometown team Tamil Nadu, he was awarded as the Man of the Match twice in the knockout of the Ranji Trophy in the year 2014.

Though they are two big names floating around Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja for their amazing contribution as the best all-rounder, Vijay Shankar is scooping his way in the Indian Squad. Shankar has had a chance of playing a replacement for the all-rounder Hardik Pandya due to his injury but Shankar hasn’t earned his spot in the team.

With Hardik Pandya’s stubborn back issues, Shankar is in a tense situation because he doesn’t want to be a part of the team just because he is an all-rounder but as a player who can be trusted in a tough situation. “I don’t want to be in the team just because I am an all-rounder, someone who can bat and bowl. It should be more genuine; I should be in the team when people trust me for my abilities. I have said in the past about not liking comparisons. But if you really compare, I think I definitely have done better than most,” this was his reply to his interview.
