Technology has been a blessing in many cases. It has been same for the sports too, especially in cricket. Ever since the stump mic was introduced in the sport, it has taken a great change. Stump mics have let know the fans about the voices of the player during the match. Sometimes they have put the players into trouble, and sometimes it has entertained the fans with their hilarious wordings during the match.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the India international cricketer has once captained the team. He has been responsible for leading the team towards victory, in several tournaments, including the World Cup. Dhoni is really cool and funny, when on the field. There has been a lot of moments when he was caught in the stump mic giving funny statements.
1: “Oye Sree udhar girlfriend nahi hai, idhar aa jathoda.” (Hey Sree, your girlfriend is not over there. Move over here.) – Dhoni was caught saying this to Sreesanth while fielding in a Test match.
2: “Taarak Mehta daalta reh.” – Dhoni said this to Jadeja and the statement was later explained by Sunil Gavaskar. It was a reference to an Indian Television serial, ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.’ It is a code language that Dhoni uses to suggest him to bowl ‘ooltah’ (reverse).
3: “Ispe ek ghumega toh idhar Pujara ko ussi ke liye rakha hai, o udhar taali bajane ke liye nahi hai”. (If the ball hits the boundaries, I have kept Pujara (Cheteshwar Arvind Pujara) in the slips for catching. He is not standing there just to clap) – Dhoni said this to Jadeja during the Test match against New Zealand.
There have been many more such hilarious moments caught on stump mic when Dhoni was caught giving funny statements.
