Yuzvendra Chahal is a well known Indian cricketer as well as a former chess player. He has represented Indian internationally in Cricket and chess. The talented cricketer is a leg break bowler and has taken some great wickets in international cricket as well as IPL. He has been impressive in the shortest format as well as the ODIs. With his current form, he is surely going to make it big in international cricket in the years to come. Here are a few facts about the right-arm leg spinner.

Yuzvendra Chahal is listed on the official site of FIDE (Federation Internationale des Echecs/World Chess Federation) and is the only player that has represented India in both chess and cricket.

According to Chahal, chess helped him tremendously in maintaining the temperament and reading the mind to execute a plan on a cricket field.

Initially, Chahal used to be a medium pacer but later on, he shifted his focus to leg-spin and has mastered the art.

He shot to the limelight and attracted attention when he took 34 wickets in the National Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in 2009, ending the tournament as its leading wicket-taker.

Chahal made his first-class debut for Haryana in 2009 against Indore.

Yuzvendra Chahal made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in 2011.

An avid movie buff, Chahal’s dream date is Katrina Kaif.

Apart from cricket and chess, Chahal is a fan of soccer. He supports Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo is his favourite footballer.

On February 1, 2017, Chahal became the first Indian bowler to have claimed a five-wicket haul in T20 Internationals in the third T20 against England.

He is a self-confessed prankster.
