Ravichandran Ashwin has played a lot more test matches than Bumrah. He made his test debut in 2011 and since then, he has played 72 matches and has taken a total of 370 wickets for India. Many promising young spinners have showcased their talent in the IPL and have managed to get a place in the Indian team. However, filling in Ashwin’s shoes is hardly possible for any of those youngsters. He is one of those rare bowlers, who has a mastery of bowling a carrom ball. In his entire test career, he has managed to take 27 fifers which are more than amazing. Ashwin still continues to play for India in test matches. In the match against Australia, Ashwin managed to take 4 wickets in the first inning itself with a crucial wicket of Steve Smith.

Bumrah has played fewer test matches than Ashwin as he is India’s best death bowler and he is specially used in the limited-overs format. But given his ability to bowl every delivery to be a wicket ball, he can play in any format. He made his test debut in 2018 only and since then he has played 15 matches for India and has taken 70 wickets altogether. Out of those 15 matches, he has taken 5 fifers in total. Apart from his brilliance in bowling perfect Yorkers, he is also skilled in bowling length balls that make the batsman give an easy edge towards the keeper. If Bumrah keeps playing more test matches, he will need a smaller number of matches to meet Ashwin’s stats.
