The world is mourning the death of Bryant Kobe and his daughter, Gianna. They were among the 9 people who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in California. Fans of this basketball player are in shock and there is an outpour of grief all over. In an interview with ESPN in 2015, NBA legend Kobe Bryant reflected on his own legacy saying he, “wanted to be remembered as a player that didn’t waste a moment.”

Bryant was called one of the greatest players in the history of the game by NBA commissioner Adam Silver, and The New York Times wrote that he had “one of the most decorated careers in the history of the sport”.

For 20 seasons, Kobe showed us what is possible when remarkable talent blends with absolute devotion to winning.

Bryant played his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, which means he was cent percent loyal to his team.

On the court, he will go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game, winning five championships, two NBA Finals MVPs and two Olympic gold medals.

He was an extremely dedicated, hard-working and goal-oriented player.

Off the court, Bryant was many things: An intellectual who switched effortlessly between Italian, Spanish and English; a doting father to four daughters, a budding media mogul who won an Oscar.

He is an inspiration to younger players for his winning attitude that he labelled “Mamba Mentality.”

We pray for the departed soul and wish to see his legacy being continued.
