The singing sensation from Alipur, West Bengal, Neelanjana Ray, who is one of the Finalists in Sony TV’s singing reality show, Indian Idol 10 has made the Nation proud with her amazing talent.

Being the youngest contestant of this season’s Idol, Neelanjana has been applauded everytime she has taken to the mike as a singer.

For Neelanjana, her parents matter a lot and she looks forward to fulfilling their dreams.

Says Neelanjana in an exclusive talk with IWMBuzz.com, “My parents made this dream come true, by giving me an opportunity to be part of Indian Idol. I have no words to thank them. My only goal now is to give them what they have wanted from me. I want to fulfil their dreams of seeing me as a good singer. I will make them proud by being a good human being. They want me to be respectful in all ways possible. Overall, I want to be an ideal daughter to them.”

Neelanjana had never set her eyes at the trophy of Indian Idol when she entered the competition. Her aim was to be good at her art, and learn as much as possible through this amazing journey. “I never ever dreamt of seeing myself in the Finale. But yes, my goal was to be a finalist and get into the Top 5. I had set this as a target for myself. And I am happy that I have fulfilled my target now.”

Ask her at what juncture in the Indian Idol journey she started to believe that she has the calibre to win the trophy and she avers, “As I said, my goal has been to get to the Top 5. Having said this, every performance of mine did motivate me and I started to believe that I can go a long way in the race.”

On her best moment so far in Indian Idol, she quips, “The moment I sang the song ‘Tere Mere Milan Ki Yeh Rehna’… I received lot of praises for this song. This rendition has to be my special performance on the platform of Idol. Also, I felt really good singing this song.”

Ask her about her biggest competitor in the Finale and she states, “I see none as my competitor and it is the same with all of us. We are all here to give our best. Indian Idol as a platform has given us big rewards through the recognition we have got. Being the youngest of the lot, I have always been loved and pampered by one and all. If you still ask me the same question, I will probably say that I believe in competing with myself.”

How big a moment will it be if you win the Idol trophy? “It will surely be the biggest moment of my life. Everyone from my family, friends and well-wishers will feel proud of my achievements. Also, I will make my entire community proud.”

And your biggest learning curve from this exposure will be, “Well, I have gained a lot with respect to my singing skills by being here. I have learnt a lot of good personality traits too. I will never forget this path of Indian Idol for life.”

Wish you all the best in life, Neelanjana!!
