Leander Paes is one of the most exciting and interesting players to have represented the country. He, alongside, Mahesh Bhupathi has played an instrumental role in putting India on the global map when it comes Indian Tennis.
After a fairly long and successful stint in sports as a player and mentor, Leander recently begun his political journey with Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress political party. Leander joined the party at Goa in Mamata Didi’s presence and it was a sight to watch. With the 2022 elections coming up soon, a lot of experts have termed this move from TMC as a masterstroke.
Mamata was herself quoted saying by India Today during the official announcement,
“Happy to inform that Leander Paes joins TMC. I am too happy. He is my younger brother. I know him since I was the youth minister and he was very very young.”
