With each captain scoring some of the highest runs in their debut as a captain. The captain’s role in the IPL is very crucial and the team is solely dependent on the captain. 1. Sanju Samson (119 runs off 63 balls)
Sanju Samson is one of the youngest captains in the IPL, he made his debut as a captain on 12th April this season for the team Rajasthan Royals. Punjab Kings gave a target of 221 runs which is a very high score. But the captain of the Rajasthan Royals shook the entire team with his amazing solo batting. He was so close to defeating the team, but he felt short for only 5 runs at the end. However, he did manage to score 119 runs.
2. Shreyas Iyer (93 runs off 40 balls)
Shreyas Iyer who made his captainship debut in the year 2018 for the team Delhi Capitals knocked out KKR with his amazing 93 runs off just 40 runs with a strike rate of 232.5.
3. Kieron Pollard (83 off 31)
Kieron Pollard made his debut as a captain in the year 2019 and came out to be the most effective captain for Mumbai Indians, he scored an amazing 83 runs off just 31 balls.
4. Aaron Finch (64 runs off 42)
Aaron Finch made his debut in the year 2013 as a captain for the team Pune Warriors with his amazing knock of 64 runs off just 42 balls.
