Cristiano Ronaldo got a twofold to turn into the European Championship’s untouched leading scorer as Portugal struck multiple times late on to beat a tough Hungary 3-0 in their Euro 2020 opener at a pressed Puskas Arena on Tuesday. The holders, who seem to have a lot more grounded crew than when they won their first significant title five years prior, toiled for extensive stretches in Budapest. Yet, Raphael Guerreiro made the indispensable forward leap in the 84th moment and Ronaldo pummeled in a punishment instantly thereafter before tapping home in injury time.

Cristiano Ronaldo has now become the leading scorer with his dominating 11 goals in the event which is two more than the French player Michel Platini who scored 9 times leading the French Team to glory in the year 1984. The Portugal winger is also now three goals away from equalizing the record of the Iranian footballer Ali Daei’s record all-time international leading scorer with 109 goals.

Ronaldo was allowed to break the record in the biggest crowd by far with Budapest allowing it to full capacity in front of around 68,000 fans. Ronaldo is keeping good with his form in Juventus but is not scoring. However, Ronaldo reported having had a great impact on the Coca-Cola company after he slid away two bottles in front of him as Coca-Cola being the lead sponsorer of the Euro 2021.
