Following the much-anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) Final, which was held in June at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, India’s brilliant bowler Umesh Yadav was named to the massive squad for the five-match series against England.

The cricketer had to withdraw from the Test series in Australia earlier this year after suffering a calf issue on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Umesh bowled only 3.3 overs and took only one wicket throughout that series before being injured and returning to India. The cricketer was also left out of India’s selection for the 3-1 victory over England in the home Test series.

The BCCI revealed a 15-member selection for Team India’s World T20 final appearance, and Umesh Yadav was included in the super squad. It was intriguing to watch the cricketer be given a chance to play in the starting XI.

Umesh Yadav took to Twitter before the mega-event to share two photos of himself bowling. Umesh stated in the photos that he is putting the finishing touches on the WTC Final.

The tweet quickly went viral, prompting a barrage of responses from Twitter users. Fans quickly flooded the tweet with speculation about whether Umesh Yadav would be included in the playing XI or not.
