KL Rahul was not a choice as an opening batsman for team India. Dhawan’s absence from the T20I series against West Indies in December gave KL Rahul the chance to open. And he didn’t disappoint. In the recent T20Is, we saw that the player can strike it well when the team is chasing or batting first. The strike-rate was over 150 in several games, showed why he is a real deal in T20Is. Rahul has moved up to sixth in the ICC T20I Rankings for Batsmen and that is enough proof.

On the contrary, we have Jason Roy, an English cricketer who plays for England in all formats. He made his Twenty20 International debut against India in September 2014. In 2016 T20 World Cup he hit 43 off just 16 balls to help England chase down 230 against South Africa and he smashed a quick-fire 78 in the semi-final against New Zealand to make their way into the finals. Jason Roy seems to be the best choice for England in the opening position.

KL Rahul and Jason Roy are slowly making their mark in cricket as openers and we are unable to choose the best T20 opener amongst them. Please help us choose the best one.
