Cricket is a game which requires a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication along with good skills and street-smart tactics. It is very important for players to be in the right balance so as to ensure that they are fit enough to be available to play matches. However, sometimes even a little jerk leads to a major injury and it results in a long break. A few Indian cricketers have been so prone to injury, they have missed more cricket than playing it.
Ashish Nehra: MS Dhoni’s go-to bowler during tough situations, Ashish Nehra has undergone 12 surgeries in his cricket career. From ankle injuries to the hamstring pulls he has been majorly injury prone and had to miss a lot of cricket.
Ishant Sharma: This Delhi guy is one of the most experienced bowlers and has been an integral part of the test squad. However, his ankle, hamstring, and knee injuries have kept him out of the fray for quite some time now.
Shikhar Dhawan: Shikhar Dhawan is one explosive opening batsman. But he has also been injured quite too much. He had to miss world cup matches after fracturing his thumb while batting against Australia.
KL Rahul: The Bangalore based cricketer has shown tremendous talent and good temperament, but was not able to achieve his highest standards, due to injuries. His injuries had kept him from being included in the international scene for a while.
Mohammed Shami: The front line pacer has been a victim of a consistent injury, which has pegged him back from front line cricket for a while, and while fit, he has been one of India’s front line bowlers. Persistent knee injuries have held him back from becoming one of India’s spearheads in the longer and shorter formats.
Despite being injury-prone, their contribution to the team is outstanding.
