With Star Plus locked in a fierce see-saw battle with rival Colors and Zee to retain numero uno GRP position, and with Colors having inched forward this week, it is being speculated that Star is going to effect a major overhaul of its existing FPC (programming shed), in a bid to reinforce its hold on numbers. Already the chopping has started with Ishqbaaz, now rechristened as Ishqbaaaz-Pyaar Ki Ek Dhinchak Kahani, coming to an end on the 15th of this month. Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke will most probably replace it.

However, Star might not be content with changing just one show. The rumour mills are abuzz with chatter that two more shows might be taken off very soon. One possible name being touted is Krishna Chali London (KCL). This Saurabh Tiwari production is not doing very well on the ratings front. After a lot of hard work, the numbers had gone up a bit. In a bid to create shock value and further lift the numbers, the male lead character, Radhe (Gaurav Sareen), was unceremoniously bumped off, making way for a new male lead, played by Karan Vohra. But this ploy, rather than lifting the ratings, had brought them down a tad.

Apparently, this mis-step has not washed well with the mandarins at Star, who are seriously contemplating ending KCL.

When asked about this, a source on the KCL set said, and we quote verbatim, “I doubt it for we have not yet got any notice or information. Rather, we are shooting a special sequence and are in the process of introducing new characters.”

We also have the possible third show name, but would like to refrain from mentioning it, as we don’t have hard facts; it would be improper to put out half-baked news.

Our team reached out to all the concerned stake holders, i.e. channel, production house and leads, but did not get a revert till the time of filing this exclusive piece of news.
