FaceApp has several filters that can alter faces to make them look younger, like a different gender, or older. A new AI photo-editing app, FaceApp, is letting people stare into their futures, and not in a good way.

The aging filter adds extra pounds, wrinkles and gray hairs to selfies. It’s hyper-realistic. And, of course, everyone is tempting fate by trying it out and sharing the results.

Launched in 2017, the app is now back in the spotlight as celebrities, influencers and regular folks post photos of themselves aging beyond recognition.

The app lets you pick a photo from your gallery – meaning you have to give FaceApp access to your personal data.

The app states that it may require access to “take photos and videos, read the contents of your memory card and modify or delete the content of your memory card.” So do note what data you’re giving up just to see how you would look 50 years from now.

On a less serious note, Twitter and Instagram are now filled with examples of the #AgeChallenge. The social media trend becomes an overnight sensation. Surprisingly, hot celebrities are taking the challenge and posting their future saggy selves online.
