IUI And IVF: What’s The Difference And Which Is Right For You?

There are many couples who are facing troubles in conceiving may be wondering if they should undergo fertility treatments. And if yes, which treatment would be preferable?

There are two most common processes that are recommended by specialists and that are: IUI And IVF. Your fertility specialist will ask you to perform some tests, and based on the test results, the fertility specialist will recommend you either one of the treatments. He can also provide you with an estimated chance of conception success naturally.

Comparing the two fertility treatments, IUI and IVF, it may help you determine which of the two is the best for you.

Here are some facts about both the fertility treatments:-
1. IUI [Intrauterine insemination]- In IUI, the sperm is placed directly into the uterus using a speculum. It works more like a natural process and as the sperms are placed directly they don’t need to swim much to reach the egg. In this process, women are given medications to increase the number of eggs. In IUI, there are chances of having twins or even more children, however, multiples will increase complications to the mother and children

2. IVF [In-vitro fertilization]- In IVF, eggs are removed using a needle with a surgical process that passes through the back of the vagina and the eggs are fertilized outside of the body. The IVF process can be beneficial to those couples who have concerns about a genetic condition, who had miscarriages or unsuccessful IUI cycles. This process also helps to identify any genetic disorders or chromosomal abnormalities.

When going for any fertility treatment, it is best to take advice from your consulted specialist, as every patient and every situation is different.
